On the occasion of the
70th birthday of the important Czech architect Josef Pleskot, the Kampa Museum
has prepared an exhibition entitled Josef Pleskot: Cities. What is the meaning
of architecture, what is its social role, how does it influence public space
and democracy, and what impact does the environment have on everyone's life?
These are the questions to which the programme Evening on the Theme on Czech
Radio Vltava seeks to answer.
The almost two-hour
programme takes you through the four halls of the exhibition at the Kampa
Museum: 'Ostrava', 'Litomyšl', 'Prague' and 'Atelier'. In addition to Josef
Pleskot, the editor Teresie Bečková also interviews Jan Světlík, the initiator
of the transformation of Vítkovice Ironworks, Miroslav Brýdl, the first
post-Soviet mayor of Litomyšl, and the two curators of the exhibition, Jan
Skřivánek and Norbert Schmidt.
